Shwood Sunglasses

Shwood Sunglasses

Forget simulated wood grain — Shwood Sunglasses ($95) are handcrafted from actual wood. They're available in two basic styles, the Wayfarer-like Canby and the more squarish Govy, and can be ordered in a variety of different woods, all with your choice of Carl Zeiss lenses. Just remember: these probably aren't the best shades to wear to the beach, water park, or campfire — we're guessing they're at least a little flammable.

Brooks Brothers Mad Men Edition Suit

What would you pay to be Don Draper or Roger Sterling? How about to look like them? The Brooks Brothers Mad Men Edition Suit ($1,000; October 19) pays homage to AMC's hit show with a medium gray sharkskin suit designed by Janie Bryant, the Emmy-nominated costume designer for the show, and is modeled after Draper's and Sterling's wardrobes. Features include a noticeably slim cut, diagonal pockets, narrower notch lapels, and side vents. Limited to just 250, the suit is made in a Brooks-owned factory in Massachusetts, and while it might be more classically stylish than your current attire, don't expect it to magically turn you into Jon Hamm.

Where The Wild Things Are Costume Designs

Where The Wild Things Party
Just found this on tututoday - don't ask lol

Max and Moishe -- Must add modeling clay to the paper mache head for dimensions and contour.

Two eyes made with one tennis ball cut in half.

Nose made with tennis ball cut down the middle, squished together with duct tape and duct tape put at the top to elongate nose.

Here's our Max as well!

Have to add the dimensions and contours to Moishe's face with modeling clay and shade with paint.  Have put in nostrils and modeling clay to contour face and images will be up soon.

We wanted to go ahead and show what we had!

Moishe began as a $2.77 ball.

We added five layers of paper mache allowing each layer to dry completely.

We reinforced the neck area with about two more layers of paper mache.

Because Moishe has an oval head we glued batting to the side of his head and put the fur over the batting.

We cut a mouth and painted his face.

We glued on the teeth, hair and horns.  Teeth and horns made from styrofoam cup and white duct tape.

To his sweater.  This is for a large man but is on a small female mannequin.

His tail is really black and furry with 14 guage wire in it to give it shape.

Where The Wild Things Are Moishe

For Wild Thing we have decided on our a low pile furry fabric and have cut it out in strips.

  • Our orange stripes are nine inches long and the white stripes are seven inches long.
  • We sewed them together to make the body shirt for Wild Thing.
  • We have three orange stripes and four white stripes.

Cut one half of the shirt, fold it over to cut the other side so they will match.

With some extra fabric we made a tail prototype until we find the perfect furry fabric.

We put four darts in the front of the overshirt at the bottom in the front and the four darts in the back of the shirt.

For the sleeves the first orange stripe is four and a half inches, the white stipe is seven inches, the next orange stripe is nine inches.

The width of the sleeve is the same width of the opening for the sleeve.

Attach sleeve.

Put a small roll collar at the top.
