Katt Williams Arrested

katt williams

Comedian and rapper Katt Williams was released on bond Monday after police said they arrested the entertainer for breaking into a home southwest of Atlanta and stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and coins.

Williams, who police say is 38, is charged with burglary and criminal trespassing, according to Coweta County Sheriff's Office Maj. James Yarbrough.

A Coweta County magistrate set bond at $41,150 Monday afternoon. Williams was released Monday night. As he emerged from the Coweta County Jail, he called the alleged burglary "a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives."

The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported he was mobbed by about 50 excited fans before departing in a van filled with friends and associates.

Yarbrough said the Sunday night incident happened at a home in Newnan, about 38 miles southwest of Atlanta. An employee — identified in a police report as Daniel Broach — who works at the estate where the comedian is staying called 911 around 9 p.m. to report a break-in at a guesthouse on the property.

Williams had a crowbar when he entered and is accused of taking $3,555 in jewelry and collectable coins.

He said he was staying at producer Barry Hankerson's Coweta estate while in town filming a movie about President Barack Obama.

The actor told Coweta County Magistrate Judge Joseph Wyatt he was "in the middle of a birthday party" when arrested.

"I'm one of the most honorable people in my profession," he said.

Williams, whose real name is Micah S. Katt Williams, is known for his roles in the movies "Friday After Next" and "Norbit." His comedy DVD, "Katt Williams: Pimpadelic," was no. 8 in the nation for sales during the week of Oct. 30, according to Nielsen/VideoScan.

But lately the entertainer has gained as much attention for criminal troubles as for his quips.

He was briefly jailed in November 2008 after New York police said officers discovered three guns in Williams' car after pulling him over for driving without a license plate. Manhattan prosecutors dropped weapons charges in July after running into problems proving their case.

A judge sentenced Williams to three years of probation in 2006 after he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed firearm. Authorities had arrested Williams on Nov. 6 at Los Angeles International Airport after finding a gun in his briefcase.

Williams lives in Woodland Hills, Calif.

Song- Philadelphia State Of Mind (World Series Version)

phillies logo

I heard this on sports radio and wanted to share it with my Baseball Fans. Pretty good take on Jay and Alicia's "Empire State Of Mind".  Personally I am rooting for the Yankees, they paid a lot of money for this championship lol, although I have MUCH love for the Phillies, as a matter of fact this World Series is even more of a Win Win for NYers than the Subway Series a few years back... So many of my favorite DJ's are Philly born and NY based that I can't imagine a more Hip Hop Baseball Series... This song proves it!

chorus
In philly
concrete jungle where dreams are made of
theres nothin you cant do
now youre in philly
these streets will make you feel brand new
these lights will inspire you
lets hear it for philly x3

back when we had sly bacon
whoops i mean cunningham
right after jaws
and right before the running man

better rock ya party cap
cruisin down city ave
headin to the boulevard
coulda grabbed the El
but they told me that it wouldnt spark
this where im comin from
who knows where we goin to
i feel like im in line for a ride
when im at tony lukes
we could lose all the trees
but we still got the roots
plus we got beans
and an eve that doesnt opt for fruit
green blood in the tube
if we need it transfused
when the mets come thru
youre gonna hear our fans boo
this is the city of the brotherly love
and if youve never been here
i suggest that you come to

chorus

now that we got vick
i think we need the vet back
tougher than a stitch

Hear DJ Hero's Mashups

thumbnail icon: Hear DJ Hero's Daft Punk, Justice, Weezer Mashups

This just in off of STEREOGUM

Exciting as the prospect of pushing buttons and scratching records in simulation of pushing buttons and scratching records might be, Activision's expansion into the realm of the DJ Hero has netted online demand "well below" expectations. Not even Daft Punk contributing their likenesses and 11 exclusive mixes could get the buzz up. But while online interest in the game might be low, online interest in hearing the 93 mashups is likely higher, or so we're assuming with this post. We have 3 for you to hear, here:

Weezer "Beverly Hills" vs. Evidence, The Alchemist, Aceyalone, Rakaa & 88 Keys "Fresh Rhymes And Videotape" (DJ-Guitar mix)
